about us

InHend was founded in 2024 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Bayer and Deniz Alp Yılmaz, with the goal of translating academic research into practical applications that benefit the industry, promoting a sustainable energy future and a livable world. The company secured pre-seed funding from TÜBİTAK’s BİGG fund for its high-performance latent thermal energy storage project. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Bayer serves as Chairman, with Deniz Alp Yılmaz as Vice Chairman. InHend is also a national semi-finalist in the GCIP (Global Cleantech Innovations Programme) Accelerator, a program run by UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey).

WHO ARE WE?

TEAM MEMBERS

Dr. Özgür Bayer

Dr. Bayer earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 2000, 2002, and 2009, respectively. From July 2009 to August 2010, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Kentucky's Radiation Transfer Laboratory, contributing to various research projects. He continues to be a faculty member at METU's Mechanical Engineering Department. His research focuses on CFD-based convective and radiative heat transfer, radiative cooling, HVAC applications, thermo-fluids experiments, and energy-related thermal, ecological and system analogies. Recently, his work has centered on phase change materials and thermal energy storage, resulting in numerous publications in top international journals.

Deniz Alp Yılmaz

Deniz Alp Yılmaz earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2019. Since graduating, he has worked on various projects related to thermal design and management, with multiple conference publications in these areas. He also has expertise in thermal system design and computational fluid dynamics.
